Term:
Digital Subtraction Angiography

Description:
DSA is a way of taking images of arteries, veins and organs of the body using complex computerized x-ray equipment.

Applications:
X-Ray imaging has come a long way. This DSA technology provides for very high speed multiple projections of the body. The 2D Images can further be detailed using another 3D Workstation to obtain 3D anatomical impressions. Without DSA, the radiology screening would be very cumbersome. I can imagine the doctors and nurses manually trying to get detailed images of blood vessels without the help of some computer aid.
