European Institute for Health Records (EIHR)

Description:

The European Institute for Health Records (EIHR) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2002. It is part of the ProRec initiative, a network of national non-profit organizations whose goal was to build awareness of the limitations, shortcomings and obstacles on the way towards widespread development, implementation and use of EHRs.

The institute was established as a non-profit organization under French law and is involved in the promotion of high quality EHR systems in the European Union. The main mission of the institute is to support, as the authorized certification body in Europe, EHRs certification development, testing and assessment by defining functional criteria.

Applications:

  1. To federate the established ProRec centres that comply with a set of explicit criteria.
  2. To develop specifically those activities that cannot be handled at the level of ProRec centres and/or within their scope, according to the principle of subsidiarity and in view of both synergy and economy of scale.
