Description: Quality Improvement Organizations are typically private organizations affiliated with the US Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services, established to keep an eye on the healthcare being provided to Medicare recipients and ensure that proper standards are being met. They also work to improve the level and quality of care provided in their area of influence as well, and typically make much of the information they collect open to the public.
