Therapeutic goods administration
The Therapeutic Goods Administration or commonly known as the TGA is a division of the Australian Department of Health. They're responsible for regulating the standards and accessibility of medicines, medical devices, gene technology, and blood products. Since most over-the-counter medicines and other health products can be easily accessed its up the TGA to make sure that these products are safe for the consumer to use. Not only is the TGA responsible for supplying and manufacturing therapeutic goods they’re also responsible for advertising them to.
The applications of the Therapeutic Goods Administration are to regulate medicines and other health products to Australians. The other application of them is to make sure medicines are readily available from supermarkets, behind the pharmacy counter, and even medicines such as vitamins, and herbal extracts. In today’s society it is very important to have an organization like this because they can help in the aid of preventing diseases and also being able to diagnose them as well.
